I, C से छोटा है और N, I से छोटा है।
In this question, a question is followed by two statements numbered (I) and (II). You have to decide whether the information given in the statements is sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and select the appropriate answer. Among the five poles - I, N, C, H and L - each having a different height, which pole is the shortest? (I) C is taller than only two poles. I is shorter than C and N is shorter than I. (II) H is taller than L.

Answer: (A)

The information in statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, while the information in statement II is not sufficient.

कथन I से: C केवल दो खंभों से ऊँचा है, और I तथा N दोनों C से छोटे हैं, N < I।
From I: C is taller than only two poles, and both I and N are shorter than C with N < I. So N is the shortest. II (H taller than L) alone says nothing about the shortest. So statement I alone is sufficient.

Seven boxes, M, N, O, P, Q, R and S, are kept one over the other but not necessarily in the same order. O is kept third from the top. Only two boxes are kept between O and Q. P is kept immediately above Q. M is kept immediately below R. N is not kept at the lowermost position. Which box is fourth from the bottom?
Show answer and explanation

Answer: (C)

N

From the top: O = 3, so Q = 6 and P = 5. R and M must be consecutive with M below R; the only free pair is 1-2, so R = 1, M = 2. N is not at the bottom, so N = 4 and S = 7. Fourth from the bottom is position 4 from the top, N. So the answer is N.

What should come in place of the question mark (?) in the given series? 192 185 198 191 204 197 210 ?
Show answer and explanation

Answer: (D)

203

The differences alternate −7, +13: 192 − 7 = 185, 185 + 13 = 198, and so on. After 210 (+13) comes −7: 210 − 7 = 203. So the answer is 203.
