यकृत कोशिकाओं से निकलने वाले मीरोज़ॉइट ही लाल रक्त कोशिकाओं (RBC) पर आक्रमण करते हैं। यदि परजीवी मीरोज़ॉइट में परिपक्व हुए बिना यकृत से निकलता है तो RBC संक्रमण नहीं होगा, जिससे रक्त अवस्था और उसके लक्षण कम हो जाएँगे।

Merozoites released from liver cells are the form that invades red blood cells. If the parasite exits the liver without maturing into merozoites, RBC invasion cannot occur, so the blood stage and its clinical symptoms are reduced.
