1.
In which of the following cases is the work done negative?
Show answer and explanation

Answer: (C)

Force and displacement are between 90° and 180°

Work W = Fs cos θ. For θ between 90° and 180°, cos θ is negative, so work is negative (e.g. friction). At 90° work is zero and below 90° it is positive.
2.
What will be the resultant force if a body of mass 10 kg is moving with an acceleration of 5m/sec²?
Show answer and explanation

Answer: (D)

50 Newton

By Newton's second law F = ma = 10 × 5 = 50 N. So the force is 50 Newton.
3.
Which of the following SI prefixes has a multiplicative factor of 10^–9 ?
Show answer and explanation

Answer: (B)

Nano

Nano (n) = 10⁻⁹. Milli = 10⁻³, centi = 10⁻² and micro = 10⁻⁶.
4.
Which pancreatic hormone regulates blood glucose levels by stimulating the uptake of glucose by body cells?
Show answer and explanation

Answer: (D)

Insulin

Insulin, secreted by the beta cells of the pancreas, lowers blood glucose by helping body cells take up glucose. Glucagon does the opposite and raises blood glucose.
