गैस लौ के संपर्क में आते ही तेज़ी से ऊष्मा और प्रकाश के साथ जलती है, यह तीव्र (रैपिड) दहन है। स्वतः दहन में बाहरी लौ की आवश्यकता नहीं होती।
Gas burns quickly with heat and light once it meets the flame, which is rapid combustion. Spontaneous combustion needs no external flame.
